about molly.

IMG_4119.JPGMy full name is Molly Rebecca Marko. I turned 21 on November 25th. My favorite color is olive green, but it always changes because I’m only kinda-sorta indecisive (maybe). I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and decided to major in Marketing Communications at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. You’ll probably find me there with my hand around a mug of coffee and my shoulder carrying my backpack with my trusty MacBook, Canon vlogging camera, and tattered journal, searching for the next adventure. Or for my next class. But most likely an adventure.

I cut my hair at the beginning of the summer and I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. I love it short. My eyes are light blue like my Mom’s. I am 5’3″ and short like my Dad. I have a smile like my sister, Morgan, but not nearly as beautiful. And me and my little brother Myron have the same sense of humor, but he is always the one making me laugh.

What is this blog all about?

I want to leave my mark on the world, but most importantly, I want to encourage you to leave yours. I have lived my life staying silent, holding back, and doing what was expected. I’ve wasted time focusing on failures and wondering what others will think of me. But I have had enough. God didn’t create us to live this way.

I started the #leaveyourmarko hashtag so we can be brave together. It has my name, but I want it to be yours. Use it on social media so we can see and encourage each other as we leave our mark!

I hope that these blog posts will remind you that you (and yes, I most certainly mean you) are worth sharing with the world—exactly the way God made you. Nothing more, nothing less.

“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine.” Isaiah 43:1

(Oh! And if you signed up and you don’t see it, check your junk mail. Sometimes it goes there and it’s really, really annoying).

  1. Hi Molly,
I don’t exactly know where this is sent to, and I’m not the greatest at this, but I just wanted to let you know a few things. I’ve recently been reading your blog posts, and not only do I find you extremely talented with expressing yourself and writing, but I find you so inspirational. The posts have been really helpful and relevant to my life right now. I just wanted to let you know that your writing has had and continues to have an impact on me personally, along with what I’ve been battling lately, and I thought it was important enough to make sure you knew that. You seem like a very valuable and special person, and I admire you for what you do. So I want to thank you.

    • Haley,
I don’t think you know just how special these words are to me. With my WHOLE heart, thank you. I don’t always know if my words are making a difference or if I am just shouting into the ocean of internet. But to hear that you are being impacted by them makes me so incredibly happy. (and even that is an understatement). Your little message makes this all worth it to me. I am going to pray for the battle you are facing, okay? I hope that you have a wonderful day and that you never forget your worth in Christ! ❤
      Again, thank you Haley.
      Always, Molly
